In a cephalic presentation the fetus is head down. Most common in this presentation would be delivery of the crown first.
It means the head of the baby is facing down and the baby is parallel to the mother's spine.

You pretty much want your fetus to be positioned head down toward the cervix and vagina because it makes it a whole lot easier on mom and fetus during birth.
this maneuver determines the lie of the fetus, whether it is a head presentation, or in the breech position.
It goes between the posterior surface of the umbillicus of the mother to the external umbillicus of the fetus

When a baby, (human, horse, cow,) is about to be delivered it normally appears head first in the birth canal. If the fetus is butt first that is referred to a s a breech presentation.
Call a doctor, as you may have what is called "ectopic" (usually in the fallopian tubes) presentation of the fetus. When this happens, the egg never makes it down to the uterus, and the sperm somehow does its job. This pregnancy must be aborted as it will kill both the mother and fetus, due to damage caused by ectopic presentation. Ectopic defined: Out of Place.
