The first ballpoint pen was put on sale in 1945 by the company Bíró Pens of Argentina. The ballpoint pen gained popularity quickly due to its convenience and reliability, replacing fountain pens as the preferred writing tool for many people.
L.E. Waterman of New York designed the firstworkable fountain pen in 1884. Lazlo Biro patented the first ballpoint pen in 1938
If you draw in rubbing lead pencil then go over it with a ballpoint pen but if your using a regular sketching HB pencil you can use sharpie or fine liner what ever you prefer.

Well, it would be pretty simple. First, you would draw the circle, and you know how a sundial had that point that tell the time? Then you would put that on top. you can draw the shadow, from a point of viewing at the left, also where the sun was. make sure you start out with light strokes, and then go over it harder, or even with a ballpoint pen.
