REM or (Rapid Eye Movement) happens when your asleep, about every 90 minutes in a human and 30 minutes in a dog or cat after they fall asleep until about when they wake up in the morning. A dream lasts from about 5 - 40 minutes. REM happens about every 90 minutes with each one lasting longer than the previous occurance. REM periods come at times when we are not in a deep sleep. Also as the night goes on sleep gets lighter. Someone is more likely to remember the last dream they had because they are closer to being awake, the longest, and they have occured the most recently. It ussualy occurs four or five times every night. The body is paralyzed, heartbeat increases, and the eyes move very quickly from side to side they also move up and down.
Hope that helps

REM sleep happens when you are deeply asleep, so you should be able to sleep without being disturbed for at least a few hours, since it may take that long. Although it can happen faster.

Tort is typically a violation of a right in personam, which means it affects a specific individual or their personal rights. It involves claims against a person rather than against a specific piece of property or land, which would be a violation of a right in rem.
When a person has been deprived of REM sleep for long enough they will not cycle through sleep patterns as a well rested person would. These REM deprived patients will enter REM sleep much more rapidly and will spend more time in REM sleep over the course of the night as their body attempts to "catch up" for the lost REM. This expedited process of entering REM is called REM rebound.
