The two semilunar valves are the aortic valve and the pulmonic valve. The aortic valve opens when the left ventricle contracts, allowing blood to pass into the aorta. The pulmonic valve opens when the right ventricle contracts, allowing blood to pass into the pulmonary artery.

The semilunar valves or the Aortic and Pulmonary valves opens when the ventricles of the heart contract. They allow passage while preventing back flow of blood. The closure of both contributes to the Second Heart Sound (S2)

In contrast the atrioventricular valves (mitral and tricuspid valves) open when the atria contract allowing blood to flow into the ventricles and again, preventing back flow. Their close makes the first heart sound (S1)

What open and allow blood to flow into pulmonary trunk?

The Pulmonary Semilunar Valve allows blood from the right atrium into the pulmonary trunk.

Is the pulmonary valve a seminlunar valve?

Yes. The pulmonary valve is a semilunar valve between the right ventricle and the pulmonary trunk.

Where does blood flow from when it passes through the semilunar valve and into the lungs?

Semilunar valves are found throughout the body in veins, as they prevent backflow of deoxygenated blood. In the heart, there are two semilunar valves, the pulmonary semilunar valve and the aortic semilunar valve. The pulmonary semilunar valve is the gateway to the pulmonary artery, which then goes to the lungs. The aortic semilunar valve is the gateway to the aorta, which distributes oxygenated blood to the rest of the body.

What valve exits the right ventricle?

The pulmonary or pulmonic valve (a semilunar valve) controls blood flow from the right ventricle to the "pulmonary trunk" that branches into the two pulmonary arteries carrying blood to the lungs.

What is a pulmonary sigmoid valve?

It is the pulmonary valve. Sigmoid is only a synonyme for semilunar (includes pulmonary and aortic valves).

What two blood vessels contain semilunar valves?

Right at the very start of the aorta is the aortic valve and at the very start of the pulmonary artery is the pulmonart valve, each of which are semilunar. In the heart there are two semilunar valves that lad to blood vessels. The pulmonary semilunar valve leads to the pulmonary trunk, and the Aortic semilunar valve leads to the Aorta.
