There are a lot of symptomatic indicators, but its rare to see all of them show up. Alcohol is a Central Nervous System (CNS) depressant. So we see it inhibiting the gag reflex, slowing breathing, and generally messing with the CNS. Given enough alcohol, you will die. But how much is that?
The symptoms to watch out for include:
- Passing out
- Can't be roused
- Coma (always transport for this one).
- Slow breathing (<8 Breathes per minute -- 12 is normal resting)
- Intermittent Breathing
- Paleness or Bluish skin tone
- Hypothermic
- Seizures
It is best to have someone checked out without delay by a doctor, less delays gives someone a better chance to survive.
