Take a resistance reading between thetwo wiring terminals of the FV sensor and note theresistance values.Perform this test once in the area by the water heaterand a second time outdoors after allowing the sensorto acclimate to the outdoor atmosphere for 5minutes.Service Note: These resistance readings should betaken using an ohm scale above70,000 ohms.3 If the resistance of the FV sensor is above 70,000ohms during the indoor test only and the resistancereading taken in the outdoor atmosphere droppedbelow 70,000 ohms. Re-check the area surroundingthe water heater for substances that could beemitting flammable vapors. Remove any suchsubstances from the area and store them properly ina different location.
