The Navy project TIMATION began in 1964. It provided the technological basis for GPS (accurate clocks on the satellites updated from secure ground stations, satellites in circular orbits in mid-altitudes - 8 or 12 hours preferred).
The concept was developed beginning in 1973 after experiments with accurate time signals from military satellites in the late 1960s. The system became fully operational in 1994 and was soon applied to commercial purposes. Any GPS receiver that can receive signals from at least 4 GPS satellites can utilize these signals. The systems are now available worldwide and modernization is continuing to improve them.
The TIMATION satellite program began in 1964. It contributed the ideas of accurate atomic clocks on satellites, and mid-altitude (8 or 12 hour orbits) circular orbits to GPS.
The history of the Sputnik 1project dates back to 17 December 1954, when Sergei Korolev addressed Dimitri Ustinov, the Minister of Defence Industries, proposing the development of an Earth-orbiting (artificial) satellite, forwarding a report by Mikhail Tikhonravovwith an overview of similar projects abroad. Tikhonravov emphasized that an artificial satellite is an inevitable stage in the development of rocket equipment in 1951, after which "interplanetary communication" would become possible. On 29 July 1955 the U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower announced, through his press secretary, that the United States would launch an artificial satellite during the International Geophysical Year (IGY). A week later, on 8 August thePresidium of the Central Committee of the CPSU approved the idea of creating an artificial satellite. On 30 August Vasily Ryabikov - the head of the State Commission on R-7 rocket test launches - held a meeting where Korolev presented calculation data for a spaceflight trajectory to the Moon. They decided to develop a three-stage version of the R-7 rocket for satellite launches.
The first sat nav was made in 1986 by a man call john smith.
GPS was invented in year 1973 by Roger Easton
Roughly, 1980. However there were not enough satellites up to make it usable until the late 1980s and most receivers weighed 50 to 100 pounds until the 1990s.
The GPS is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides time and location information in all weather conditions. Bradford Parkinson, Ivan Getting, and Roger Easton invented it.

Global Positioning System (GPS) uses the signals from geosynchronous satellites to provide accurate position information for navigation. As such utilizing GPS for navigation amounts to utilizing satellite navigation ("sat nav"). Note that while GPS, which was developed by the US government is the most widely used satellite navigation system, Russia also has the Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) deployed which can provide essentially the same satellite navigation capabilities - and can be used in along with GPS to get faster and more accurate position information. The EU, Japan, China, and India are also working to deploy a satellite navigation systems.
On some Sat Nav systems it is possible to use Stephen Hawking as the voice. Whether you can or not depends on the make and model.
A PDA Sat Nav is used to store information, files, read emails and provides a navigational system. This is different from the GPS as the GPS is used more for travelling long distance.
You can track an iPad if it has been stolen. You will need to have the app downloaded. Just log onto your Apple account to track the iPad. The satellite navigation systems can't be tracked.
Sat Nav is short for Satellite navigation system. Sat Nav is a system of satellite that provides geo-spatial position with global coverage. When used on a car, sat nav tells where exactly the car is.
A snooper sat nav is a satellite navigation system. It is currently a GPS for your car/truck/vehicle. It comes with speed camera detection and satellite navigation tracking. The size and model of the product may vary.

You can purchase Sat Nav & Car Electronics online at the Amazon website. Once on the page, type "Sat Nav & Car Electronics" into the search field at the top of the page and press enter to bring up the items.
TomTom battery is used in SAT NAV. TomTom are Europe's leading manufacturer of Portable Navigation Devices witha wide range of touch-screen devices.
The TomTom Sat Nav is a navigation system. The TomTom Sat Nav uses actual speed data collected from many of users to accurately calculate its user's travel time. It also has advanced lane guidance and spoken street names.
I want to know how to use the sat nav on my mercedes please
you will probably need a jack a map or sat nav and that is about it
what is the advantages of using a sat nav.
Because sometimes the speed dial on your car can be up to 10kph different than your actual speed so I personally would trust your sat-nav
Well there a radio, sat nav, a bum warmer ect
Halfords seems to know what they are talking about when it comes to sat navs, so their website seems to be a credible source for your satellite navigation needs.
