After the episode announcing the Gosselins separation and the filing of divorce papers, the TLC network announced that 'Jon & Kate Plus 8" will production hiatus June 23 - August 3, 2009 while the family adjusts to their new schedule and Jon and Kate iron out custody arrangements. More new episodes will be broadcast starting on August 3.
Why isn't 'Jon and Kate Plus 8' on anymore?
'Jon and Kate Plus 8' is still on TLC, both new episodes and reruns. As of October 1, 2009, taping for the show is on hold while the parents, Jon and Kate Gosselin, negotiate the details of their divorce and their commitment to their reality show. But broadcast of the episodes will continue. Starting November 3, 2009, the show will be rebranded as 'Kate Plus Eight." The new version of the show will focus more on Kate as a single parent, and the kids doing the same things they have always done. Season 5 will premiere on May 25, 2009. In the meantime, there are lots of reruns being broadcast.
