There are many places to sell a Marlin 30-30 1870-1970 Commemorative. Gun shows and online gun auctions are good places to start. Make sure to research the prices and find out the gun laws before making a sale to anyone.
The Marlin model 336 will sell for between 200-350 dollars, depending on overall condition.
I have a marlin little joker i will sell for parts
Marlin probably has one and most likely won't sell it to you.
marlin 35 cal. lever action. rifle/ Marlin makes the rifle ,but not the ammo for it.
the Glenfield name used on the marlin rifle was for mass-merchandisers and chain stores that wanted brand name products to sell. this model you have was made by marlin from 1966-1970. marlin made two variations of this rifle, the change coming in 1969. it should have impressed checking on stock and forearm. As for the JM on the barrel, this is Marlin trade mark. 77,603 were built. these sold for around $100 when they were new. They are real nice rifles, I have a 30A 1st. variation that should look almost like yours except the magizine tube is full length. I wouldn't call it rare, its worth what ever you can get out of it. good solid rifles made by Marlin!
I have one I will sell. 478-918-5392
marlin 12 gauge bolt action goose guns sell for about $200 in great condition

The ser.# you gave is a higher number and is best answered by Marlin Manufacturing, so you need to contact them at their address. Unless you can find someone that has a bluebook on Ser# and corrisponding years it's hard to give a value. However the gun was made 1984 to date, and depending on how long you have had it and the condition, it is worth $225 to $265 dollars in real good condition. Most sell for $150 to $200 without a scope. But I do agree with the valuation.
It really depends on the condition of the rifle, year of manufacture, etc. Personally I think around 700 - 800 dollars to a private party, keep in mind, its just my opinion. My father bought one for me and one for my brother in the early 70's and I wouldn't sell it for any amount. Good Luck! -George
The model 6079 OTASCO rifle, was made by Marlin, and is identical to the model 60 Marlin, except for the OTASCO commemorative markings, and less expensive birch stock. These models run concurrently with Marlin model 60 which sell in the $100-$125 range, if in excellent condition.
It is worth quite a bit to me. If you have one to sell contact me at: Northwest Firearms.com my name is: marlin 1888
