Jesus grew up in Nazareth, a small town south west of the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel. This was rather a small town in the first century AD hence the comment 'can any good thing come out of Nazareth?'

Answer

It is not recorded where Jesus lived from teenage years to the start of his ministry.

Yes, for most of his life. Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Around the age of 2, (after the Magi left) he and his family moved to Egypt to avoid Harod's plots to kill Jesus. Sometime between then and the age of 12 (when he stayed in the temple), they returned to Nazareth, and there he lived till he began his ministry at age 30.

AnswerNazareth was a small village in Galilee, known to have existed since around 70 CE. There is no extra-biblical evidence for the existence of the village in the time attributed to Jesus, but on the other hand, no strong reason to say that it did not exist then. Without any information about the early life of Jesus, we can not say exactly where he was brought up, but in a small village this would not matter much.

Luke 4:16, 23 tells us that Nazareth was Jesus' hometown, where he was raised.

Joseph brought his family to Galilee, when Jesus was still a young child, and they all settled in Nazareth(Matthew 2:22-23). This fulfilled the prophecy saying that the Messiah would be 'called a Nazarene'.(Matthew 21:10-11)(Mark 1:9)(John 1:45)(Acts 10:38)
