At the Globe, people stood on the floors and sat on wooden benches in the galleries all around (if you paid extra, you could get a cushion). At the Blackfriars, the people on the floor had chairs and the wealthy could get seats right on the stage.

Well, it was a good place to see the actors, if not to hear them. Also, it was a good place to be seen. Going to a theatre to be seen is not exactly a modern invention.
