With suicide it depends on your beliefs and what you were raised with because who is to say you go to hell? In some cultures and religions suicide is not entirely a sin and I believe it depends on how you lived on earth not how you died.

From a different point of view, regardless of your religious or cultural background, it is hard to deny that suicide brings you to a place where there are no more options. As long as you are alive, there are options before you. Part of what makes depression so depressing is that you get yourself to believe that there are NO options. That is a lie that comes out of the depression itself. With help, and with talking to trusted friends and counselors, and by getting medical attention, you can make it through the depression. There are options-- there are options-- there are always options-- as long as you are alive to choose them.

Suicide results in DEATH: and according to The Bible; after death the dead GO TO THE GRAVE!

"Whatever you do, do well. For WHEN YOU GO TO THE GRAVE, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom." (Eccle.9:10 NLT New Living Translation)

Suicide is "self-murder." Murder is one of the "ten sins" listed in God's Perfect Law -- the Ten Commandments -- ["...sin is the transgression of the Law." - I John 3:4], each of which exacts the penalty of "death."

"For the wages of sin is death, but the Free Gift of God is Eternal Life through Christ Jesus our LORD." (Rom.6:23 NLT)

But since the Bible also reveals that man CAN DIE TWICE... it becomes evident that the FIRST DEATH man experiences [whether it's from natural causes or suicide or whatever] isn't the death from which Jesus Christ shall save us:

"...'Anyone who is willing to hear should listen to the Spirit and Understand what the Spirit is saying to the churches. Whoever is victorious WILL NOT BE HURT BY THE SECOND DEATH.'" (Rev.2:11 NLT)

The Bible reveals that "some sort of VICTORY must be won" in order for Jesus to prevent us from "being hurt" by the Second Death.

The Bible reveals that the FIRST DEATH is APPOINTED TO ALL OF US. But not necessarily the SECOND DEATH... which the Judgment will determine.

"And just as it is DESTINED that EACH PERSON DIES ONLY ONCE and AFTER THAT COMES JUDGMENT, so also CHRIST DIED ONLY ONCE as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. HE WILL COME AGAIN but not to deal with our sins again. This time He will bring Salvation to ALL THOSE WHO ARE EAGERLY WAITING FOR HIM." (Heb.9:27-28 NLT)

You hear very few religions in this world preach about Judgment Day or the Second Death in accordance with the Bible. Mainly because few of the religions of this world BELIEVE THAT DEATH EXISTS! They most preach the "lie" that Satan told Eve in the beginning:

" 'You won't die!' the Serpent hissed." (Gen.3:4 NLT)

The religions of this world teach and preach that "death" is actually "living" somewhere else in some other worldly or spiritual form. Some teach that "dead people" are "alive" somewhere in heaven [wafting up there on a cloud or something] "looking down on their loved ones on earth."

You have to wonder, however, if they're really alive, conscious and awake looking down on their loved ones caught on the top floor of a burning high-rise building... or helplessly watching their loved ones being mugged, or raped, or in a terrible automobile accident, or slowly dying of some rare debilitating disease -- just how "Blissful, Serene and Perfect" can heaven be, really?

The Bible, on the other hand, reveals that DEATH IS SLEEPING! An unconscious, dreamless, dormant sleep:

"The living at least KNOW they will die, but THE DEAD KNOW NOTHING. They have no further reward, nor are they remembered [or: do they remember anything]. Whatever they did IN THEIR LIFETIME - loving, hating, envying [killing themselves; emphasis, mine] - is all long gone. They no longer have a part in ANYTHING HERE ON EARTH." (Eccle.9:5-6 NLT)

God reveals that WE DIE! [Gen.3:3] The god of this world tells us WE DON'T DIE! [verse 4] So, who does this world believe?

Jesus, Himself, [whom the Bible reveals was and is the Almighty Creator God of the Old Testament who made the universe and everything in it - John 1:3] tells us that DEATH [the First Death] IS SLEEPING: from which, one day, we shall all awaken to Judgment.

"...He said, 'Our friend Lazarus HAS FALLEN ASLEEP, but now I WILL GO AND WAKE HIM UP.' The disciples said, 'LORD, if he is sleeping, that means he is getting better!' They thought Jesus meant Lazarus was having a good night's rest, but Jesus meant LAZARUS HAD DIED. Then He told them plainly, 'LAZARUS IS DEAD.'" (John 11:11-14 NLT)

Matthew Henry's comment, however, on the "suicideby Judas" cuts to the heart and "real issue" of the question with which we should be more concerned than "what happens to OTHER sinners after death?" -- regardless of what THEIR sins may have been. And that is... man's preoccupation with the consequences of other people's sins; while we go merrily along neglecting our own:

"...Casting down the money, Judas departed, and went and hanged himself, not being able to bear the terror of Divine wrath, and the anguish of despair. There is little doubt but that the death of Judas was before that of our Blessed LORD. But was it NOTHING to them that they had thirsted after His blood, and hired Judas to betray it, and had condemned it to be shed unjustly? THUS DO FOOLS MAKE A MOCK AT SIN. Thus many make light of Christ crucified. And IT IS A COMMON INSTANCE OF THE DECEITFULNESS OF OUR HEARTS, TO MAKE LIGHT OF OUR OWN SIN BY DWELLING UPON THE SINS OF OTHER PEOPLE'S SINS. But the Judgment of God is according to Truth. Many apply this passage of the buying the piece of ground, with the money Judas brought back, to signify the favour intended by the blood of Christ to strangers, and sinners of the Gentiles... Judas went far toward repentance, yet it was not to Salvation. He confessed, but not to God; he did not go to Him, and say, I have sinned, Father, against heaven. LET NONE BE SATISFIED WITH PARTIAL CONVICTIONS as a man may have, and yet REMAIN FULL OF PRIDE, ENMITY, and REBELLION..." (Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary: Matthew 27; Christ delivered to Pilate, The despair of Judas (1-10) )

Man's nature [our nature] has a penchant for imagining the "sins of others and the penalty thereof" to be more deserving for others, than the ones committed by ourselves.

Let's not preoccupy ourselves wondering "what happens to OTHERS who sin after they die" [in whatever manner in which they do so - including "suicide," which is "self-murder"]. The Bible reads clearly on the status of the dead... regardless of HOW they die. THEY'RE ASLEEP... awaiting the Last Great Day of God's plan; Judgment Day. THEY KNOW NOTHING during this SLEEP, until they are awakened by Christ on that Day; IN THEIR PROPER ORDER:

"... everyone dies because all of us are related to Adam, the FIRST MAN. But all those who are related to Christ, the OTHER [or SECOND] MAN, will be given New Life. BUT THERE IS AN ORDER TO THIS RESURRECTION: Christ was raised FIRST; then WHEN CHRIST COMES BACK, all His people will be raised..." (I Cor.15:22-23 NLT).

The Bible clearly reveals that the "dead in Christ" will be resurrected "at the time of His return"... and that all of the majority of mankind that have lived and died throughout the generations of man "without Christ" will be resurrected "a thousand years LATER!"

"...They came to Life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years. THIS IS THE FIRST RESURRECTION. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years had ended.) Blessed and Holy are those who share in THE FIRST RESURRECTION. For them the SECOND DEATH holds no power, but they will be Priests of God [the Father] and of Christ and will reign with Him a thousand years." (Rev.20:4-6 NLT)

Suicide victims are "people without Hope"... "without the Knowledge and Understanding of God." They don't know the Truth of God's Word... people often oppressed and depressed by "demons" [the spirit world that lives all around us on planet earth, of which man's five physical senses remain virtually unaware - see Eph.6:12 & Jude 1:6 & II Peter 2:4 & Heb.2:5] that attack the minds and hearts of the spiritually blinded [which is the vast majority of mankind].

According to the teaching from the Bible... suicide victims will "awaken from their sleep" with the vast majority of mankind, a thousand years after Christ returns, to face their Creator on that Day, Judgment Day [to have their works judged against the Words written in the books of the Bible - see Rev.20:12 & 22:11-12]. At that time they, along with the rest of the majority of mankind, will have the "books of the Bible, the Truth of God [see John 17:17 & John 12:48] opened to their Understanding" [see Rev.20:12]. The Holy Spirit of God, the Spirit of Truth, will "flow freely in the hearts and minds of everyone." Then, they will have their opportunity to receive God's Mercy, Forgiveness and Salvation that those whom God is calling now [to train, obey, and rule His Kingdom with Christ for a thousand years over the nations] shall have received a thousand years earlier.

It will be at THAT TIME... the time of the Judgment... that the SECOND DEATH will be administered to the wicked... or the Merciful Forgiveness of God... and Eternal Life... will be bestowed upon the "repentant."

"THIS IS THE SECOND DEATH [the death from which Jesus saves His creation from the god of this world, to whom man gave over his worship and obedience from the beginning - see Gen.3]. And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire." (Rev.20:14-15)
