Where does the name Huddlestone come from?

Huddlestone derives from the dutch term to 'huddle behind a stone' which is common practice for native dutch people when farming. If the wind or rain were to pick up in their native country, the primative dutch farmers would huddle behind stones for protection, not realising that the rain would fall from the sky. This was common practice right the way into the 20th century, until in 1987 a former dutch patriot who found himself lost at sea, returned home with an umbrella which is now shared throughout the country on a weekly basis.
