This fulfills the prophecy of Zecharia
Zec 9:9 Rejoice, rejoice, people of Zion! Shout for joy, you people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you! He comes triumphant and victorious, but humble and riding on a donkey--- on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Zechariah 9:9 - Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey. [NKJV]
Because it was a prediction made by Zechariah (Zech 9:9-10) "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy kingdom cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass." This prophecy was fulfill with Jeus's Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem as out lined in Matthew 21:4-5, Mark 11:9-10, Luke 20:39, and John 12:13-15.

There is no historical account or biblical reference that suggests Jesus rode a donkey backwards. The Gospels describe Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey, fulfilling a prophecy, but there is no mention of him riding the donkey backwards.
