Here are some of the references:

  13. Jude 1:21

The word used for God's love in the New Testament agape is unique in referring to the love of God, and such love as God has both for His son Jesus and for lost mankind. This is also used to describe the love Christians are meant to have for one another. So, even in passages where it is talking about the love Christians are to show to each other, this love ultimately is 'God's love shed abroad in their hearts through the Holy Spirit.'

The KJV sometimes uses the word 'charity' instead of love. This is so in 1 Corinthians 13, the great 'love chapter' of the New Testament. This is also the case in the passage below:

Colossians 3:12-14 (King James Version)

12Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

14And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

Perhaps the best known individual verse referring to the love of God is:

John 3:16 (King James Version)16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Additional Comment:

Many biblical students would consider the Apostle John as writing the 'Gospel of Love,' along with his 3 letters.

IT is mentioned in John 13. For god so loved the world, that he gave us his only begotten son for those who believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Clarification:

I believe the beautiful scripture sited above is: John 3:16

And there are many more:

(1 John 4:7-10) God is Love, and if we are his worshipers, we must love our brothers too.

(Romans 5:8) says that God loved us so much, that even while humans were sinners, he still sent his beloved son to die for us, to give us a hope.

(Romans 8:39) says that nothing can separate us from God's love , if we follow his son Christ Jesus our Lord.

(2 Corinthians 9:6-7) Tells us that God loves a cheerful giver.

(2 Corinthians 13:11) says that if Christians think in agreement and live peaceably, the 'God of love and of peace will be with YOU'.

(1 John 5:3) Tells Christians that they can remain in 'God's Love' if they continue to "observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome".
