Writing this from memory but this is my procedure: * Drive front of car onto ramps * Crawl under front end and locate the plastic shield below radiator, remove two wing nuts that hold it in place * Now you can see the filter near bottom of engine * I use Mobil 1 filter #M1-101 and Mobil 1 oil always Really easy once you get that shield off.

the fuel filter on my 98 Malibu is located back by the tank. it is set slightly in front of the two rear tires in the middle. its easily spotted when under the car, its a silver cylinder about 5 inches long (at least mine was) and has a gas line attached at both ends. its pretty simple to access and change. good luck!
