If it is an automatic, there isn't one. As stupid as it seems, the oil level is checked with a level plug located in the side of the transaxle that is only accessible when the car is on a hoist. The car must be level, transmission warm and on a level surface (hoist) when removing the plug to check. The transmission is filled by removing the vent located on the top of the transmission.
Theres not one
Believe it or not on automatics there is no dip stick for trans. there is a plug on trans. like manuals have and it is checked that way
If auto Check the rear passenger side of engine
Some GM automatic equipped vehicles have a sealed transmission with no dip stick. Look in your owner's manual or call a GM dealer to be sure.
There will be a fill plug on the side of the trans, fill it until fluid comes out of the hole and seal it back up.
Where is oil dip stick on 2002 cavalier 2.4lt engine
It should be in the owners manuyal. If you don't have one, try MOTORLIT.COM I have a 2002 Cavalier w/ the 2.2 and there is no way to check the trans fluid. There is a cap on the trans that screws of but no dip stick. When the trans starts feeling like it's not shifting the way it should, I put in a half quart and it seems to work.
where yo pull the dip stick marked tansmission, you put a funnel in it and pour until you have a full read on the dip stick, let it be known that people tell people who have a standard tranny that there is no tranny fluid. you should know that a manual trans does not have a filler. If your cavalier is an automatic tranny, you pull the dip stick marked transmission and put a funnel in place of it and pour until dip stck has a full reading.
they don't have one, instead its a plug with a valve that specialize mechanic, trans. shop or the dealer can refill or add fluid to the automatic trans.
how do you replace thermostat for 2004 cavalier
