You have the sheet of muscles that protects the abdomen. They are there in front of the abdominal cavity, in the side and the back side also. The six pack muscle, called as rectus abdominis, is the prominent example of the abdominal muscle in the front. Then you have the the external oblique, internal oblique and the transversus abdominis muscles. They are there in the side of the abdomen. You have the sheet like aponeurosis of these muscles in the front of the abdomen. The position of the rectus abdominis, in relation of the aponeurosis of the above muscles, is very interesting.
