Incident Commander
The Logistics Section Chief is responsible for providing medical services to incident personnel. The individual has other responsibilities such as setting up food services, providing transportation, setting up and maintaining incident facilities and providing communication planning and resources.
A Finance/Administration Chief is assigned when there is a need for financial and administrative support for an incident. This individual is responsible for recording personnel time, maintaining vendor contracts, administering compensation and claims, and conducting an overall cost analysis.
The Planning Section Chief is responsible for developing the incident action plan, ensuring that resources are effectively allocated, coordinating with other sections to gather and analyze information, and identifying future resource needs based on the incident objectives.
The Incident Command System (ICS) provides a structure for developing and delivering incident-related messages in the National Incident Management System (NIMS). Under the ICS, a designated Incident Commander is responsible for coordinating and disseminating information to relevant stakeholders during an incident response. This ensures clear and efficient communication among all involved parties.
