Book one in the Inheritance Series is called Eragon.
The only known riders in Eragon are Galbatorix and Eragon himself, though at the end of Brom's life Eragon learns that he too was once a rider.

I think it was dragon riders anonymous
A red sword. It belonged to Morzan, Eragon's stepfather, and was won in a fight by Brom. Both Brom and Morzan are Dragon Riders. In the ancient language, it means "misery".
Eragon, Murtagh, Brom, Oromis, and Galbatorix are the ones that are alive in the series. The dragon rider for the last egg is not know, we will find out when the fourth and final book comes out.
Eragon first meets Brom in the town of Carvahall, where Eragon seeks his guidance after discovering a mysterious dragon egg. Brom becomes Eragon's mentor and teaches him about magic, dragon-riding, and the ways of the Dragon Riders.
Well since the blue egg hatched for Eragon and the Red egg hatched for Murtagh, there is one more left and that egg is in possession of Galbatorix. Overall, there were three eggs, unless you count the eggs that hatched for the dragon riders before Eragon. ^^
In the book "Eragon" by Christopher Paolini, a key flashback involves Brom sharing his own experiences with dragons and Riders, offering insight into the history and lore of Alagaësia. This helps Eragon understand his present circumstances better and his role as a Dragon Rider.
Ormis is an old sort of retired elven dragon rider. He and his dragon, Glaedr, teach Eragon and Saphira the ways of the dragon riders and before he is healed, Eragon is taught by Oromis to live with his crippling wound.
Galbatorix is a human, but he is also a rider. Riders tend to take on some elvish characteristics.
