Actress Natalie Portman's dancing double was Sarah Lane, a soloist with the American Ballet Theatre, but Natalie trained for over a year to dance for her role in Black Swan. In early 2011, Sarah Lane argued that only five percent of the 'dancing' shots in the film were of Natalie. Oscar-nominated Director Darren Aronofsky dismissed this in a statement, saying that out of the 139 dance shots in the film, 111 are of Portman untouched, while 28 shots are of dancer Lane. "If you do the math, that's 80 percent Natalie Portman," he says. Despite this, Lane continued the dispute and even spoke in an interview with ABC, saying "they were completely lying" about the dancing the film.
