Some say science shows that GMO foods have no bad effects on human health. Others say the effects they have on human health have not been determined, and that there is reason to believe they have detrimental effects to health. The truth is that the effects that GMO foods have on health, good or bad, are probably not known.
Genetically modified food, sometimes called Round-Up Ready, has been genetically modified to accept certain pesticides better (Monsanto's Round Up, for example). It is not of greater nutritional value, it does not grow better, it does not grow faster, and it does not resist bugs better. It merely accepts pesticides better meaning you can use less. If your neighbor grows GMF and it spreads to your fields (by wind or bug or whatever), you will be charged a fee for having it in your field. Also whether or not the food is safe in humans has not been determined by any long-term studies. Who does it effect? Potentially everyone because once that genie is out of the bottle, there is no telling what long-term effects it will have on us or the environment.
The ones who benefit from GMO foods are the corporations that develop them. Farmers benefit for the first few years they plant them, but may not after that. Food companies may benefit from them, depending on their cost. There is no evidence that consumers benefit from them, since they have been shown to have any greater nutritional benefit than non-GMO foods and it is hotly debated whether they may be harmful to health of people.
Genetically modified foods are beneficial to the companies that create and patent GMO varieties, and evidently to farmers who grow GMO crops and companies who use GMO ingredients in their foods. Since there were no long-term human studies done before GMO foods were approved for commercial sales, it is not known how beneficial, if at all, GMO foods are to human health.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who are you
huge amounts of food can be made this way therefore they are cheaper
Organically grown foods are not (trans)genetically modified, meaning they are not what is considered GMOs.
i believe that there have been at least 200 modified foods
Genetically modified foods as of January 1, 2015 are:tomatoespotatoesfield cornsoy beanssweet cornwheatricepapayacanolacrookneck squash
Genetically modified foods will go bad. The only thing that is different is the size and nutritional value of it.
Bt-corn is a type of genetically modified organism, termed GMO. A GMA is a plant or animal that has been genetically modified through the addition of a small amount of genetical material from other organisms through molecular techniques.
Genetically modified
The Genetical Evolution of Social Behaviour was created in 1964.
In general, non-genetically modified foods of any type (including whole soybeans) are preferred to the their genetically modified counterparts because the long-term health effects of consuming genetically modified foods have not been properly documented yet. There may be unanticipated health risks with consuming certain genetically modified foods.
Any food can be genetically modified through genetic engineering. Three foods that have been genetically engineered are corn, soy, and canola.
One of the disadvantages of the genetically modified foods is that it allows animal products in plants which could raise issues for those with dietary restrictions like the vegans. The advantage of the genetically modified foods is that they can increase the crop yield in a very small acreage.
