Tim Severin is a historian who had reinacted the theory in which the Irish "discovered" the New World before the Vikings. He had reinacted the part of St. Brenden who he believes was the Irish monk/explorer that discovered the New World.
There was no proof for this theory however, he soon got hold of the media and a large number of people started paying attention to him. Soon enough this theory was raised to point.
