Noel Odell spotted Mallory and Irvine high up on Mount Everest. He was the last person to see them alive.
George Mallory and Andy Irvine.
There has been no real evidence to show that Mallory and Irvine did or did not make it to the summit of Mount Everest. Everything that you read about it is the writers own idea and theory to what had happen. If the body of Irvine is found and the camera is with him it 'might' show how far they really got.
Nobody really knows is Mallory and Irvine made it to the summit of Mount Everest in 1924. Mallory's body was found in 1999 but they did not find the camera that he was carrying, it was hoped that the camera would reveal a photo from the summit.
Andrew Irvine only ever went to Mount Everest the one time, that was with the 1924 British expedition. George Mallory chose Irvine as his partner for the summit attempt.
A very hard question to answer! Up to now there has been no real evidence found that George Mallory reached the summit of Mount Everest. It is hoped that if they find the body of his partner Andrew Irvine he will have the camera that no one has found. This might show evidence if they stood on the summit or not.
George Mallory first climbed Mount Everest in 1921 when the 13th Dalai Lama permitted, for the first time, the expedition of Everest. Before 1921, there were no recorded expeditions. George Mallory then went back in 1922, 1923, and 1924 until he died in an unsuccessful, or some may argue a successful summit. In the event that it was a successful summit, which is not recorded and has not been proven true, George Mallory would have been the first to reach the summit opposed to the recorded statement that Sir Edmund Hillary and his expedition partner were first. Nonetheless, George Mallory did not return from the mountain on his last expedition.
There has been around 200 people die on Mount Everest while trying to reach or return from the summit. The most famous two are George Mallory and Andrew Irvine.
The most famous legends of Mount Everest are George Mallory and Andrew Irvine who went missing in 1924. To this date it is not known if any of them reached the summit or not.
The main two legends of Mount Everest are British climbers George Mallory and Andrew Irvine. The left for the summit in 1924 and were never seen alive again. To this day, no one really knows if they reached the summit or not.
he didn't.
Assuming there wasn't a 26 year old British flag left behing by Mallory and Irvine, there were no flags on the summit of Everest intill 1953, when it was first climbed. Once again that is unless the ill fated Mallory/Irvine attemp trully did reach the summit in 1924.
There are many who think Mallory reached the summit but there is no hard evidence. If the camera that Mallory had was found maybe it will show a photo from the summit, who knows!
