Jonathan Edwards (October 5, 1703 - March 22, 1758) was a Christian preacher and theologian. He served at Northampton Presbyterian (Mass) and was a leader in the Great Awakening movement and transcendentalism. His most famous sermon is probably "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God", given at Enfield,Conn, in 1741. He died from a smallpox vaccination, getting small pox from it.
