James E. Broome (born December 15, 1808 in Hamburg, South Carolina; died November 23, 1883 in DeLand, Florida) succeeded Thomas Brown as the third Governor of Florida, serving between October 3, 1853 and October 5, 1857, including the whole of 1856.
