Manila is founded by a muslim ruler long before spaniards first came in 1521. How can Legazpi be the founder of Manila? The word is derived from 2 Arabic words: min Allah (from Allah) So it was pronounced Minallah long before the first white man ( Spaniards) first set foot on the archipelago. Spain covered up later in the 16th century then reestablished or refounded Minallah to Manila. The tagalogs later pronounced it as Maynila.
