Egyptian rulers were called pharaohs who were like gods on earth! Literally in their religion they believed that the spirit of Horus son of Osiris lives in every pharaoh.
The 1st pharaoh was Menes or Narmer in 3000 BC and the last pharaoh (yes the feminine word for pharaoh is pharaoh) was Cleopatra IV who committed suicide in 30 AD. The most successful pharaoh was Ramses II who fathered more children and reigned the longest of any pharaoh (over 100 children and reigned 67 years) after his death the name "Ramses" was used for a very long time. The youngest pharaoh was Tutankhaten/Tutankhamen who started his reign at 9 years old and died at 18 years old. He became famous because of Howard Carter's discovery of his practically untouched tomb.
