Earthquakes are not mostly found in North America.

In March 2011 Japan had a big earthquake and another June 2011. Since September last year New Zealand has over 30 earthquakes.

In the last 7 days there have been 214 earthquakes around the world not mostly in N America.

But anyway, the west coast of North and South America is part of the pacific ring of fire which is a region know for earthquakes
