Mainly because they want to trigger your interest in what they have to say, If you are interested , they will seduce you into trying to cheer them up. When you fall for this strategy and say how great life is (they really know it is) THEY HAVE WON THE FIRST LEVEL OF THEIR PREDATORY action. You then become a vulnerable source to the N, The next step is to try to up-level their attempts and fish further for more admiration and indulgence, finding you a constant supply of admiration. If this is a homosexual, he will try to get you to sleep with him in the end as an assured intimate act- satisfying himself, using you as an instrument to indulge his needs.
