It allows it to more easily regulate the volume and rate at which the rest of the body and lungs receive it. Not to mention, because of the four chambers there is always blood circulating, during the contraction of the ventricles and atria.

At the very minimum, a heart needs two chambers: one to take blood in and another to put it back out. In the human heart those functions are served by the atria (singular: atrium) and ventricles respectively. We have two of each to keep oxygen-rich blood from the lungs from mixing with oxygen-poor blood from the rest of the body. The right chambers send oxygen poor blood to the lungs to get oxygen while the left side sends oxygen-rich blood back out into the body. Keeping the oxygen-rich blood separate allows for more efficient oxygen delivery and a more efficient metabolism than if mixing were allowed to occur.

The three chambered heart helps bc as respiration increases in colder weather to keep warm, oxygen increases which means the oxygen poor blood mixing with oxygen rich blood is a good thing. This means the oxygen poor will become slightly richer in O2 before heading out though the body.

In warmer weather respiration needs to slow to keep the body cool so oxygen intake decreases. The O2- rich will mix with O2- poor to lower Oxygen concentration throughout the body.

Most look at the 3 chamber heart as a disadvantage but it can really help the cold blooded amphibian.

Our hearts use more breath more more energy and power. Small animals, like frogs have three chambers . They don't have to use much energy. We need energy to survive- well, our ancestors did. Humans evolves from 3 chamber to 4 chamber to survive easier. Our extra chamber lets in more oxygen, which gives more power and health.

The heart is made up of the left and right ventricles and left and right atria. These chambers contract and release forcing the blood to get directed to arteries and veins so it can get distributed to the body

In the three chambered heart oxygenated blood is mixed with un-oxygenated blood and sent to the body in general. In the four chambered heart only oxygenated blood is sent to the body. This is important for animals with a high oxygen need such as mammals.

The advantage of having four chambered hearts (in the case of order Crocodylia) is the oxygenation process happens much more efficiently than in a two chambered heart.

When the heart rate increases in a two chambered heart the oxygenation process happens less efficiently because the oxygenated and unoxygenated blood mix. Muscles work less efficiently when there is less oxygen in the blood.
