Charles chose to abdicate, or step down, from his throne because his health problems were slowly becoming more severe. He abdicated on October 25,1556 and gave his throne to his son, Philip.

Three years later on September 21, 1558 Charles V died of malaria.

Is a game of thrones slow?

Game of thrones is a fantasy show . Yes, it is slow in pace but this is due to the lot of back story .It is one of the most classic series ever made.A Game of Thrones (the first novel in A Song and Ice and Fire Series) starts out slow because there is a lot of backstory for the reader. It picks up very quickly as characters in the novel begin conflicts with one another. The HBO show Game of Thrones is better paced for television, but viewers need to watch a few episodes before being engrossed in the story.
