Canada West and Canada East offered a railway to link Nova Scotia to the mainland. They promised money for bridges, roads, and other development.

Ontario was relatively satisfied with Confederation because it provided a framework for greater political stability and economic growth. The union allowed for improved infrastructure, such as railways, which facilitated trade and movement. Additionally, Ontario benefited from a stronger central government that could address issues like defense and immigration effectively. Overall, Confederation offered a sense of collective identity and security for the rapidly developing province.
Ontario joined Confederation because of political deadlock.
The undertaker!
it's in the confederation. ------ No yet they still did. Now the Question is should they stay?
1. Ontario did not exist prior to Confederation. Therefore it could not have "joined" Confederation. 2. Confederation occurred almost 150 years ago. It is a little late to be discussing such a question.

Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and british Columbia were the first provinces to join confederation.
Winnipeg did not join Confederation.
Wrong. First, Ontario did not exist as such until Confederation. Second, that part of the Province of Canada which had formerly been Upper Canada (and which formed the basis of today's Ontario) had the most to gain from Confederation and was the strongest supporter of Confederation. Third, although all provinces have benefited from Confederation, it is probably fair to say that Ontario has benefited the most from Confederation.
The 1867 'Constitution Act' instituted confederation of four provinces; Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, as "one Dominion under the name of Canada".
The seventh province to join confederation was British Columbia. There are 13 provinces that joined confederation; Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Brittish Columbia, Prince Edward Island, Yukon, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nunavut. I hope i helped you =D
because the political deadlock was making it impossible to do anything in Canada east and Canada west. ================================================================ Technically, Canada East did not join Confederation. Canada East and Canada West were merely geographical designations, not political entities. The pre-Confederation Province of Canada was the political entity that joined Confederation. Immediately upon Confederation, the Province of Canada was divided into the Province of Québec and the Province of Ontario.
