One reason was that Turky felt that they were a threat to them. Turkey thought that they would join up with Russia and fight against them in the war. Also, it was a culture that the Turkish thought would threaten their own.
Also because Turkey was jealous of Armenia. After the genocide, they took our land, our foods, and the deaths of many people in Armenia.
Also, the Turks were/are a Muslim country, while Armenia was/is a Christian country. If you look up Armenian Genocide, you will get to learn more about it all. It is a terrible story.

Looking for an answer to a question like this on wiki answers is pretty useless. No matter how hard you try people will be bias about it, so I recommend that you should research both sides of the story. It is really hard to get a definite answer over wikipedia, because everyone can change it.

Look, to those of you who are modern Turks, we Armenians don't blame you. However your ancestors assassinated nearly all of our population and took our land. So that's why every single year on April we have this thing called Armenian Genocide to show how desperate we felt about out ancestors who died in 1915 because of that war. SO BACK OF PEOPLE, ARMENIANS DID NOTHING WRONG! Thanks!
The first answer says:
" ... you should research both sides of the story. It is really hard to get a definite answer over wikipedia, because everyone can change it." This is easy to say, and hard to do. In the end you have to decide which sources to trust, and which not to trust.
Armenians made up a large portion of Turk society, they had a different religion than the Turks and were protected by the Europeans until World War I broke out then they faded and the Turks began exterminating them.
As to the general Western view, the Armenian genocide was caused when the Turks saw a political and military threat coming from the Christian ethnic group in the Northwest, the Armenians, after 3 Armenian rebellions and then the defection of Armenians to the Russian Army in WW1 (a tiny number, not enough to justify the Ottomans' actions). They relocated them to the south, but along the way, approximately 1 million Armenians died. This could be compared to the relocation of Cherokee Amerindians in the United States under President Andrew Jackson; most of the deaths in the Armenian genocide, however, were probably caused by anti-Armenian racism of individual Ottoman soldiers, rather than the Ottoman government's direct intention.
Yes. To learn more, look up true stories about the Armenian Genocide.
They wanted to kill all Armenians and put one in a museum saying a long time ago there once lived Armenians.
Because they hate the poor Armenians.
The Ottoman government murdered 1.5 million Armenians in 1915.
they signify that armenians are better
Genocide
Yes, the Armenians were subject to genocide by the Ottoman Turkish government. About 1.2 million Armenians were slaughtered in 1915-1917.
A couple of Turkish leaders with the names Pasha killed over an estimated 1.5 million armenians. This is known as the Armenian Genocide.
They remained in Turkey, confronted the Russians and crushed the Armenians.
Armenians are very " hairy " people because during the armenain genocide they got raped by the Turks and the Turkish people are hairy therefore they are hairy.
The Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire took place from 1915-1917.
Turkey succeeded in killing or sending away all the Armeians in the Ottoman Empire (which included Present day Turkey and Armenia).
The cat is dated centuries back to the Armenians. Van was in Armenia before Turkey commited a genocide on the Armenians and attempted to change them to Muslim from their Christianity and were unsuccessful, but in doing so took more than 60% of their land and killed roughly 1.5 million Armenians. So to say Van is turkish is incorrect. It now belongs to turkey, but was named by Armenians in Armenia living in their country at the time. The cat which is called the "Haygagan Van Gatu" is translated from Armenian meaning with exact translation to be "Armenian Van Cat" . Turks can name it what they wish but its origin is Armenian.
Armenians were deported out of their own lands by the Turkish in the Ottomon Empire; there is no reason for anyone to be deported out of their OWN lands. The 1915 Genocide left 1.5 million Armenians dead; churches burnt and lands taken (ie. Mount Ararat and Masis). The Genocide is recognized by many countries; however, not by all, given political and economic reasons. "Our strength lies in our intensive attacks and our barbarity...After all, who today remembers the genocide of the Armenians?" -- Hitler
Thousands of Americans were not killed in Turkey in 1915. It was Armenians who were killed. The Turkish Army rounded up thousands of male Christians in Turkey and killed them. Turkey denied the killings of the Armenians.
