I am not use why the block of wood would move with the table cloth. It could be because you do not have to wood tied to the table.
Friction from the moving tablecloth on the block caused it to move, if the surface was smoother there may not have been enough friction to get movement.
Inside the misson there was their beds which were made out of wood and a cloth they made and they also had a table and they have carved wood statues

I use floor laminate cleaners on a soft cloth. Follow the manufacturer directions for the floor and your table top will look great!!

the air has a lot of intermolecular space between them so yuo can easily move your hand through it. But the block of wood has the particles tightly packed and hence you need a karate expert to break the block of solid wood.
When a block of wood is moved over a worktop, my hypothesis would be, someone has moved it. Wood blocks are seldom known to move on their own. Alternatively, it could have been an earthquake.
For a crafting table, just put 4 wood planks in a 2x2 configuration. For a real-life looking table, I think you have to use worldedit. Place a fence block unconnected to any others, and a block on top. Use Worldedit to change the block on top to a pressure plate.
I believe you mean a crafting table. Well, get one block of wood. Place it into your 2x2 crafting grid. Then you will get four wooden planks. Fill in all the squares in the 2x2 grid and - wala! You have a crafting table.
Yes

The weight of water displaced by the floating block of wood is exactly equal to the weight of the ENTIRE block of wood, regardless of how much of the wood is above the water level.
