Why didn't Uranus and Neptune leave the solar system completely?

The Sun's gravity is powerful enough to hold them in their natural orbits. They are massive planets but that means that the force of gravity is stronger because it is a two-way force that is proportional to the mass of both objects.
There are dwarf planets that are a lot further out, and the Sun's gravity still keeps them in their orbit.

The Sun and the planets did not appear fully formed. There was some larger star before that exploded in a supernova throwing out lots of matter. Most of that matter coalesced to form the sun. In other regions other matter formed planets, a slow process of gravity pulling together more and more matter until it formed a large mass we now call a planet. The gravity of the sun, the largest of all these, caused the other objects, planets, asteroids, comets etc. to orbit the sun. They can't leave because gravity won't 'let' them.

Why are Uranus and Neptune not as large as Jupiter or Saturn?
Uranus and Neptune are not as big as Jupiter and Saturn because in the beginning of the creation of the solar system, there was a big explosion and rocks formed the interior planets and the remaining gas OUTSIDE of the solar system formed the gas and the gas closer to the sun was much greater than the outside. so what i mean is the gas in one section closer to ther sun made Jupiter and the other section didnt have as much gas as the first one, made Saturn. while the other section made uranus and neptune at the same time. which gives different amounts of mass and quantity of each one in the solar system. hope this helps
