Why do they wear their what backwards? We don't wear anything backwards to my knowledge. May be sunglasses when I'm indoors.
The word ambulance on an ambulance is backwards because when you're in front of an ambulance and there's an emergency you would usually see from your rear view mirror. When you see something in a mirror it is always backwards. so when you see the word ambulance on an ambulance, you would see it normally.
So you will use common sense prior to posting such a question. It's backwards so that a driver in front of the ambulance will be able to read "Ambulance" in his rear-view mirror.
Because when you see it in your rear-view mirror, It reads AMBULANCE, and you know to pull over to let it pass.
The word "Ambulance" is printed backwards on the front of the ambulance so you can read it in the mirror the right way around
When an ambulance it traveling through traffic and is in a hurry. it may sound its siren. this will cause the driver to looking the rear vision mirror. now He will see the word Ambulance backwards because that is how you see things in reflection, so by writing it backwards the driver will see the word ambulance properly and react more quickly to the situation. This is why some ambulances have this.
In order to drive an ambulance you must have an EMT certification and a commercial drivers license.
nurses, bus drivers, train drivers, driving instructors, ambulance drivers, Doctors
some vehicles like ambulances say ambulance backwards on their hoods so when you are driving and you look in your cars rearview mirror..the letters come out as if they arent backwards
Because most of the men ambulance drivers had joined the forces.
So that it can be read by drivers on the road who are looking in their mirrors.
So that drivers ahead of it on the road can read it (correctly) as AMBULANCE in their rear-view mirrors, and yield the right of way. If the word was not reversed, the drivers of the cars ahead of the vehicle would see: "ECNALUBMA." Of course, if it has flashing lights and sirens going, they would yield to it anyway. Perhaps this was done so that drivers would not mistake an ambulance for a police vehicle with similar lights.
It is spelled backwards on the front so that cars in front of it can read the word the right way around using their rear view mirrors :)
