The general public may be interested in that the company is established under the ethics of the society. And they expect the company to be responsible for their activities. (For example, does not pollute the environment and does not produce unhealthy products, or does not provide anti-social products of ideas).

And as a country they could be prideful when the company is listed among other top rated companies internationally. And it exposes the country's good name.

The general public is interested in accounting information to know that company is obtaining profits, so which they could maintain their state of the economy accordingly.
