Because the animations are well done. The characters are lovable and have depth to them. The community is welcoming and talented. The show has absoultley zero hate. And its cooler than most shows on in the present day.... about 20% cooler.
Some people dislike My Little Pony because...
Others dislike the show as they consider it girly.
boy may like my little pony because it looks fun and they may secretly love my little pony also that some of them are so stressed out that they need an escape route and my little pony is one of them
These older men, or Bronies, all have different reasons for liking the show. Some like it ironically, but the majority genuinely enjoy the show. Older women or girls who like the show can be called Bronies or Pegasisters. These people usually like the show because of the superior quality of the music, voice acting, plot, and characters while stillremaininga throwback to innocence. I cannot, however, explain why each and every Brony and Pegasister like the show, as personal reasons will vary.
Some people watch to just be entertained. Some people watch it because it reminds them of their childhood. And some don't care for the show and just like to read fanfics or other things made by fans. There's a lot of other reason it's liked, but those are the only reasons I know of
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, has a really long history of explaining how it got to where it is now. If you are interested in that, you could research or there are docs on YouTube about it.
But in short, it's mainly because, believe it or not, it's a good show. That's the big reason mostly. It's something that looks like it may be a little girls feminine show, but those who just get past that, and actually give it a chance find that, just because it's a little more girly, doesn't mean it can't be bad. In fact, it's enjoyable. The show has fantastic stories, voice actors, animation, inside jokes for adults (like spongebob-why do you think people like that "kids" show).
Stereotypes keep us away from things, yet those who brake them find out that sometimes it can be great. And those who get passed the fact that it's a girls show, and learn to like it, they find a huge creative fandom of people who love each other. So give it a chance. You might actually like it. Men find it more interesting then the older girly My Little Pony from before Lauren Faust started the series My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.
The first my little pony wasn't a my little pony at all, but a prototype called My Pretty Pony. It was a brown pony with a white stripe going down it's nose and on the front of each of it's legs, and a blonde mane and tail. It came with a couple accessories, which were a cowboy hat, a brush & comb, a ribbon, and a saddle blanket/coat. She was sold in 1981. There was a second version, which was called My Little Pony & Beautiful Baby, and included an actual My Little Pony, that looked very much like Butterscotch.
Right around $12.
Yep. Bronies (male fans of my little pony) can like any character they like.

It has believable characters with personality and flaws, references to things younger children wouldn't understand, and overall has a good storyline and animation, especially compared to the previous generations. Also, fluttershy.
A lot

Much of the show is set in and near Ponyville.
$100. Maybe a little less in a recession.
Right around $12.
It depends on the size of the pony. If it is large, 14 hands or more, it may eat as much as a larger horse. On the other hand, if it is very small, it will eat as little as a Exmoor. Hope this answer was helpful!

First quesiton you should ask. Real or fake? Does she want a toy pony, or a real pony? Toy pony, pretty simple to answer. Real pony? Errr.... Ok, assuming your not a millionaire and you can't afford to buy a real pony or even know where to put that real pony, then there is an alternative. You can take her to a Equestrian Farm. To the little girl, we can pretty much assume she won't know the difference between pony and horse, unless she is really into them, then you kinda need to find a pony farm. But take her to a horse farm and get her riding. Not only is it fun for her, its also educational. Good luck getting through the pony phase.
I don't think there's an age limit, but obviously a much older pony won't be able to do so much strenuous activity like mounted games, etc.
Shetland Pony's are rough little pony's that don't require allot of space. A normal horse needs about 50M2 of pasture and a shetland only 30. They don't like stables very much. So they are usually outside.
