Oddly enough, this is not a question of economics. It's a philosophical issue, and as with a great majority of questions that begin with the word "why", it is important that we dispense with what is meant by "why" in this case.
If motive is the intended meaning, some people buy things they do not need in order to appear well off; of these cases, a number would be attempting appear more well off than they are in actuality.
If cause is the intended meaning, then it is a much deeper issue: the idea that a large fraction of human society has failed to adopt the concept that there is any appreciable difference between the condition of "wanting" or "desiring" an object and the condition of "needing" or "requiring" an object.
I hope this helps-- it's a question I think a lot about because, regardless of the answer, the solution seems to be even more complicated than the question.
Because that's what the people who have the things I need and/or want would like in exchange for said things.
Due to value being determined by people subjectively, people have different valuations of things. Thus, people are able to trade the things they don't need or want for things they need or want. Both parties are benefitted by the trade.
Need and Want
Many many things people can invent.
all of thesefrom f.b.

They do this because they want too,and because they have what they need to do so.
Many people do, because it is such a rewarding site, and you earn free things.

Well, ads are made for a target audience. For people to be interested in an ad you have to show the good things about what you are advertising. You also need an image, for example the McDonald's "M" and lastly you need something the people want.
simple
i think it was a need and a want, some people want to blow stuff up for fun and some people need it like the people in the war. it is an invention that can be used both ways, like boats. boats are used for pleasure activities, and boats are used for war and other important things. :)
