Because they have to stretch their fingers to reach certain octaves, notes, and chords. (personal experience) When playing cello, one may have to hold one note on one string while stretching to another note on another string. This constant stretching while practicing an instrument causes your fingers to lengthen over time.

Do people with longer fingers take longer to do their laces?

Many people in the Bible used musical instruments. eg 1Samuel 18:10 And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied inside the house. So David played music with his hand, as at other times; but there was a spear in Saul's hand. 2Samuel 6:5 Then David and all the house of Israel played music before the LORD on all kinds of instruments of fir wood, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on sistrums, and on cymbals. 1Chronicles 13:8 Then David and all Israel played music before God with all their might, with singing, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on cymbals, and with trumpets.
