If you use synchronous generator... you need rotor to rotate always in synchronous speed... practically it s not possible always to produce that speed by air flow... Air flow always varies...

But using induction generator, you need to get speed to make slip as positive value.. it is always possible...

so induction generator is best one..

What two types of AC generators or motors are there?

- Attend go-sees, fittings, and castings. - Participate in photoshoots and fashion shows; - Travel to locations for shoots. - Meet with agent. - Spend time in hair and makeup for bookings.

What is advantage of ac generation rather than dc generation?

!! In india and most of the other countries user ac current. Hence, all the appliances are ac dependable. So generating ac directly would allow up to directly feed the appliances without any converter circuit.

Why is a rotating field system used in preference toa stationary field?

If you are asking why most a.c. generators (alternators) use a rotating field, rather than a rotating armature, then the answer is that a rotating armature would require slip rings to carry huge currents and be insulated for high voltages, which is not practicable.

Why is a three phase induction motor also known as a squirrel cage induction motor?

If you ever had a hamster as a kid, visualize the wheel that it used to exercise on. When the iron portion of the motor's rotor is removed this is the overall shape of the conductors embedded in the rotor. It is in this winding that the current is induced into. This in turn creates a magnetic field in the rotor that locks onto the revolving magnetic field in the stator. As for the terminology, a hamster cage induction motor does not convey the image of a motor that can do any heavy work. Its all about the spin, a squirrel is larger and stronger than a hamster and I guess that is about the largest caged animal that can use a wheel for exercising.Additional CommentAt the time when 'squirrel cage' motors were developed, people kept squirrels (rather than hamsters or gerbils) as pets.

What are the Uses of slip rings in motors?

A slip ring motor contains a slip ring, which is a mechanical device that transmits power and electrical signals from a stationary to a rotating structure. They are commonly found in engines used in cable reels, wind turbines, packaging machinery and radio telescopes.

Why are synchronous generators used in thermal power plants?

For an alternating current (AC) grid, *every* alternator must be exactly in phase with every other. If not, one will attempt to feed power to the other, rather than adding to the power in the system. Synchronous alternators are easily controlled for speed, and therefore, for phase. As well, synchronous alternators can be made with no electrical contacts, so they are very long-lived and reliable. Be aware that *all* power plants connected to a grid use synchronous machines.

How safe are natural gas generators?

Generally, if one has them properly installed, carefully follows instructions, and cares for the generators properly, they are rather safe and reliable.

Difference between transformer and induction motor?

1. Induction Motor has an air-gap but transformer has no air gap rather it is mutually link. 2. Induction Motor has high no-load current than transformer. 3. Induction Motor is a dynamic device. 4. Induction Motor has high power factor.

Can an alternator be converted into an ac motor?

It should be able to but I cannot say how efficient it would be. One would likely need to remove the electronics and have direct connections for the field windings and the rotor. Without rewinding the alternator, it would need to be fed with three phase AC power to the stator and DC to the rotor. Connected as described above, would result in a synchronous motor rather than an induction motor. If the rotor connections were shorted together the motor could possibly function as an induction motor.

What is meant by induction?

Faraday's law of induction is to do with a change in magnetic field inducing voltage in a wire. A change in magnetic field around any wire will cause a potential difference across said wire. Generators use perfectly coiled wire and permanent earth magnets to induce voltage into the coils when the shaft is turning. Generators can be used backwards as motors if voltage is applied to the coil rather than force applied to the shaft.

What is a Sentence for the word induction?

What year was Joe Montana's induction into the NFL Hall of Fame? Many proud parents attended our National Honor Society induction banquet last night. The band members felt that their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was an incredible honor. (also) "Rechargeable toothbrushes actually charge their batteries by induction, rather than an open electrical circuit." "The cool-to-the-touch kitchen range uses magnetic induction to heat only the steel cooking pans."

Gasoline Generators: Convenient Emergency Energy?

Generators that use gasoline are an excellent purchase for those who want a reserve source of energy in case of a power outage or other emergency. In contrast to diesel generators, gasoline generators are generally used for shorter periods of time. Their use of gasoline, rather than diesel, lets owners utilize the gasoline from a vehicle's gas tank if necessary. This advantage also makes these generators ideal for use in remote areas for activities such as camping.

Is prejudice passed on through generations?

Yes, prejudice can be passed on through generations through socialization, cultural norms, and upbringing that perpetuate discriminatory attitudes and behaviors. It is important to actively challenge and unlearn these prejudices in order to create a more inclusive and equitable society.

What is the bad impact of fashion on a bad generation?

Compare synchronous and asynchronous operation of sequential circuits?

A Synchronous Sequential Circuit is a system whose behavior can be defined on the timing of their signals , where in the case of asynchronous sequential circuit depend upon the order in which its inputs signals change and can be affected at any instance of time . (reference : M. Moris Mano)

Which statement is true of an oral tradition?

It's stories tend to belong to a particular culture.

What is Synchronous and asynchronous computer bus timing?

asynchronous bus A bus that interconnects devices of a computer system where information transfers between devices are self-timed rather than controlled by a synchronizing clock signal.
