In the winter people used to heat their houses with fires. In modern houses the boiler is a fire that heats water (or air) that is then circulated round the house in pipes to warm the rooms - this is called central heating.

If the boiler goes off this removes the source of heat and the central heating can no longer do its job. As a result the hose will lose its heat energy to the outside and gradually cool down.

Should you cut your dog's hair in the winter?

Probably not in the winter. Dogs have their winter coat of fur during the winter (of course) and if you shave it off then they'll be frezzing if it gets any colder. You should probably only cut your dogs hair if it a shaggy dog or the fur is getting really nasty, but do it in the spring or summer.if your dogs lives in the house and goes out for short periods of time it is ok to cut their hair short. their body temp is allot higher than ours so it wont make them sick to go potty in the cold. If your dogs lives most of his/her life outdoors then u dont want to shave them down when its cold.
