This could be for a number of reasons, but two quick things to check are the spark plug and air filter. You could have carbon building up on spark plug, meaning that even if you replaced it this past spring, it may need replacing or cleaning already. The reason for high carbon build up with the spark plug could be too much oil, bad oil, engine working too hard, or other reasons. The alternative reason is your filter is not clean. Check the filter and if dirty, clean it or replace it. There could also be problems with the throttle or regulator, but I would start with the first two guesses.
MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE GAS CAP. A CLOGGED GAS CAP VENT HOLE WILL CAUSE THE ENGINE TO DIE AFTER ABOUT 5 MIN OF RUNNING TIME AS A VACUUM WILL BUILD UP IN THE TANK AND STARVE THE GAS FLOW.
