If you take pictures sideways with the iPhone4, when you upload to WhatsApp it will turn the photo sideways. Before uploading a picture you should make sure auto rotation is turned on. If that doesn't help, you can go to Photos on the iPhone4 and turn the photo 4 times and it will auto correct in WhatsApp.
