∙ 7y agoInitially he remembers the lonely christmases he spent at boarding school, the feelings of loss when Fan his sister dies in childbirth and the breakup of his engagement to Belle. These cause him to with draw from people, he sees Christmas as a time not for sharing but just working and this crosses over in to teh need to make money to prove success. It is not until the Ghost show him what was, in his life and how those memories could be used to help him be a better person and so we see his life change over the "christmas " visits
