Camouflage is used as an adaptation for hunting mainly. Explorers sometimes make a netting and cover it with things from that surrounding which they then cover themselves with to hide so that animals will come nearby without suspecting anything and explorers will get a better view of them. They will also use this camouflage technique for hunting, an animal comes nearby, they will then shoot it. Its sad but true... Animals such as chameleons will also camouflage themselves so that when insects pass and think its nothing. It will shoot out its tongue and eat it. It also stops predators from finding them.
