If your MacBook Pro won't start, and the charger won't work, there might be a problem with the mother board. You might want to try replacing the mother board and see if that works. If it doesn't work, than i suggest buying a new one. I feel sorry for you if you need to replace it.
The two main reasons why a MacBook will not turn on are it does not have enough power or it is broken. If it has gone into deep sleep on a low battery it will need a connection to the mains electricity before it can wake up.
Can you please give me a clearer explanation? Can you physically not open the lid of your computer, or are you unable to start up/log in to it? Please specify so I can give you a clearer answer.
There are several components that must work properly for charging to occur.
It could be a lot of reasons, it just depends on how far your Mac gets into the boot cycle before quitting, and what the screen shows. Keep in mind, if your Mac does nothing when you push the button, then you may need to replace the battery.
