Human's brains allow them to use 33% percent of their muscle fiber. Monkey's brains allow them to use the full 100%.

Well first of all, the monkeys have more dense muscle fibers. Also, they use them constantly, and this builds up the already-dense muscle. Their nervous system is also "structured" a different way. I don't know the details, but I do know the result. They don't have fine manipulation skills for the same reason. Basically they can either use all their muscle or none of it. So when adrenaline kicks in and a mother lifts a car off her kid, monkeys always have that strength.

A study done in the 1920s found that Chimps were four times stronger than able-bodied College Football players. The 2009 research paper "The Strength of Great Apes and the Speed of Humans" by Prof. Alan Walker writes:

"Bauman (1923, 1926) showed that adult male and female chimpanzees held long in captivity were much stronger than any of several fit young football players when normalized for body mass. He had the animals (when they felt like it) and the students pull on a calibrated metal loop dynamometer. The female recorded a two-handed pull of 1,260 pounds, while the male recorded a one-handed pull of 847 pounds. The strongest student managed a one-handed pull of 210 pounds and a two-handed pull of 491 pounds. When normalized for body mass, this meant that the chimpanzees were more than four times as strong as the men."

Prof. Walker theorizes that the reason Chimps are so much strong is because they have less grey matter in their spinal cord, meaning there are less muscle neurons to activate small muscle groups. On top of that, they do not have the types of biological limiters that humans have because they do not have as many fine motor control muscles to protect. This ultimately means that they can access larger sections of muscle at once.

Gorillas are probably twice as strong as Chimps. I've seen estimates of them being eight to nine times stronger than humans. I couldn't even begin to imagine what it would be like to be that strong.

It's all about leverage.

The differences in skeletal shape, size of the joints, how the muscles are attached and routed is what makes chimps stronger - their muscles pull over greater leverages than what a human's do.

Monkeys are agile because their inner ear allows them to be. All vertebrates have an inner ear and that is what controls balance and equilibrium, monkeys just have a different one that is more adapted to theirtype of locomotion. They also have prehensile feet that enables more secure gripping than just two hands so they have feet as dexterous as hands so that makes things easier and they are also very strong and more naturally flexible. They also tend to have smaller more light weight bodies so they aren't weighed down. Sometimes they have tails to help them with balance when they are jumping around. Sometimes the tail is even prehensile and this also makes a big difference in balance and agility. Humans don't have prehensile feet or a tail of any sort or an inner ear adapted for jumping around in trees. We also aren't built very powerful so we don't have the arm strength needed to swing around. All monkeys and apes have arms equal to or longer than the length of their legs our arms aren't as well developed as that of any monkey or ape so for us to be like that we would need different body strength levels and longer arms and feet tjat look like hands and more natural flexibility and probably a tail for balance and a different inner ear for life in the trees
