Why is there death and suffering?

Answer:Why do people suffer and die? The Bible gives us a clear explanation at Romans 5:12. "That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned-."

Both good and bad humans suffer and die because of the sin and imperfection that we have inherited from our disobedient parents.

1 Corinthians 15:22 says "For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive."

A direct result of the sin that we have inherited from our first parents is death.

Romans 6:23 says: "For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord."

This is why we all suffer and die. The scriptures quoted above explain this. The same scriptures also offer a positive view.

1 Corinthians 15:22 says that "in the Christ all will be made alive," and Romans 6:23 says "the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord."

John 17:3 explains this further. "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."

The Bible holds out a promise to those who take in knowledge of God and Jesus Christ; Everlasting Life. The Bible also holds out another hope to those who take in this knowledge.

Revelation 21:3-4 says "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

Isaiah 25:8 says "He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. And the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for Jehovah himself has spoken it."

The Bible explains why we all suffer and die but as quoted, it also offers a sure hope of a time when death will be removed and all the pain and suffering we endure today will be soon removed.

Death teaches us that life is precious, and suffering reminds us that none could ever have to.
